We use technology to create the grocery experience of the future, building our entire digital platform from scratch.

With most of the entire tech world chasing to increase the time their users spend with their products, we optimise for the opposite; minimal time spent. In fact, we save our customers 60+ hours in stores each year. And that’s even before we have fully personalised our user experience.

Our efficient logistics save tons of food waste, and each new electric vehicle we add to our optimised distribution network replaces 12.775 trips to the store each year.

We believe that both customers and our society are ready for a brand new retail infrastructure. If software is eating the world, we are creating the software that makes this new retail infrastructure possible — fueled by data and great UX.

Some of what we’ve got under the hood

Navegante

Navegante is our very own route planner. We started building this in early 2021 and launched after summer 2021. One of the key challenges was to create the most efficient routes that are both valid and drive the least amount of kilometres.

For those of you that are familiar with the Traveling Salesperson Problem (TSP), our day-to-day challenge could be best summed up as a Vehicle Routing Problem (multiple TSPs), only on steroids.

Our busiest shifts include up to 5000 customers and 170 vehicles, where each vehicle (which has a a limited capacity and duration) have to satisfy each customer's demand (weight/volume) and discrete time slots of delivery. We also have multiple depots in different remote areas, and the planner needs to decide which vehicle to use in which area to maximize efficiency. To top it all off, our depots also have a maximum terminal capacity, meaning that we cannot load X amount of vehicles at the same time at the same place.

Most importantly, we made Navegante with heavy emphasis on our drivers. We guarantee a break mid-point in the route, contribute to OpenStreetMaps based on driver feedback, and use machine learning models to predict time spent based on previous drivers which makes the routes as realistic as possible.

Oh, and you might be wondering about the name Navegante. It’s Spanish for navigator and we like to name all our in-house technical tools in the spirit of España.

Shop platform.

Our shop platform built custom tools and solutions for content & marketing, category & product management, pricing, customer service, user & order management, as well as underlying core services such as payment platform, order handling, recommendation engines and user modelling.

Our end to end shop platform is built on a unique combination of great user experience, software and AI with complete control over all data.

Logistics platform.

Our logistics solutions we build, buy and scale are the systems that power everything from purchasing & procurement to restock, picking & production, dispatch, staffing & route planning as well as on-road transportation management and driver tools.

Our end to end logistics platform is built on a unique combination of automated hardware, custom-built software and large amounts of data and algorithms.

Data & Insight platform.

Our data & insight platform are here to realise the potential in data for the longer term benefit of our customers, our company and society.

We aim to realise the potential in data either by improving a process, a product or a decision. These solutions are embedded into everything from route planning optimisation to forecasting and tools and infrastructure for machine learning and algorithms.

Infrastructure & IT platform.

Our infrastructure & IT platform enable company growth by providing a stable and flexible technical infrastructure that makes it safe for other teams to make large changes autonomously and fast, without introducing too much risk.

The platform keeps our lights on, ensuring our machines and cloud resources run our software nicely so that end users can connect to our systems, and that our systems can connect to each other.
