Senior UX/Service Designer
At Oda, we develop affordable grocery services to make the logistics of living surprisingly easy. First we built Norway’s leading online grocery store and now, partnered with Mathem in Sweden, we’re on our way to becoming the world’s most effective retail system, delivering to thousands of Scandinavian doorsteps every week.
As part of our team, you’ll work with smart, passionate colleagues who bring their whole selves to work every day. It’s a fast-moving, collaborative environment where everyone is welcome and everyone’s opinion matters. Whether you're shaping the future of online retail, tackling complex logistical problems, or making everyday life better for our customers, your work will have real impact. Read on to find out what part you could play in our story.
Our world-class logistics and tech solutions allow us to reduce food waste, save time and money, and ease the mental and physical load for people who want more space for life.
We’re looking for a UX/Service Designer to join Oda!
We’re looking for a Service Designer to join Oda’s Logistics platform. In this role, you'll focus on creating the best possible user experience for our employees working at our fulfillment centers, including operators, operations leaders, and drivers.
You’ll have the opportunity to work directly with the users of the digital products you design, collaborating closely with a product manager, software developers, and data analysts in a cross-disciplinary team. Together, you’ll ensure digital tools and physical processes work seamlessly. You’ll work on complex workflows, collaborate with end users (our operations colleagues), and see projects go live. You'll work with software in combination with physical machinery, physical space, and operator routines. This makes logistics very exciting and satisfying to work with.
What we offer 🚀
A chance to make a real impact as a UX/Service Designer in a fast-moving company with a product people love—while shaking up the grocery industry.
Teammates who aim high and have each other’s backs. We care about people, and that means supporting each other every step of the way.
A flat structure where we team up across disciplines to solve exciting challenges. Big ideas come from everywhere!
A transparent way of working. We use Slack to stay in the loop—less email, fewer meetings, more getting things done.
A buzzing office at Tøyen, with lunch made by our very own chefs. 🧑🍳
A collaborative approach—we tackle exciting tech and product challenges together, across different fields.
A chance to shape the future of grocery shopping while building a company that’s here to stay.
What you’ll be doing as UX/Service Designer
Designers at Oda work as part of cross-functional product teams, alongside developers, product managers, data scientists & analysts, and logistics process specialists. These teams are focused on specific problem areas or stages of the customer journey, with the autonomy to set their own goals, work independently, and deliver direct solutions.
You’ll lead design efforts on projects within your team, taking them from initial discovery through to implementation, launch, and continuous iterations. While we don’t follow a strict design process at Oda, you can expect the following tasks to be part of your daily work:
- UX research, discovery, and analysis
- Mapping and systems modeling
- Workshop facilitation
- Project planning and prioritization
- Designing and user testing clickable prototypes in Figma
- Collaborating closely with developers, involving them in your design process from start to finish
- Service implementation and follow-up
What you’ll need to succeed 🌟
- User-centric mindset: Start with customer insights, test concepts, and follow through.
- Outcome-driven approach: Focus on business or customer value metrics and testing hypotheses.
- Attention to detail: Dive into edge cases and root causes—ask all the questions and go the extra mile.
- Systems thinking: Understand how everything at Oda connects and affects each other, turning complexity into clarity.
- Progress over perfection: Focus on getting things out into the world, learning, and making smart trade-offs while protecting UX.
- 5-8 years of experience in UX, interaction, or service design, with a track record of delivering projects in either an in-house or agency setting
- Language proficiency: English is our working language, but for this customer-facing design job, it’s a plus if you know some Norwegian or Swedish.
To thrive in this role, we’re looking for…
We’re looking for a full-stack designer who embraces every part of the design process, from insights and concepts to structure, visual design, and production. We don’t do handovers. You should also have a strong business mindset, balancing customer value with business impact. At Oda, we value optimism in the face of uncertainty—things change quickly, but if you see opportunity in that, you’ll thrive and learn a lot.
A few final words
At Oda, you’ll join a passionate, ambitious team working to change the future of grocery shopping. We’re all different—just like you—and we wouldn’t have it any other way. If you need any adjustments or support during the application process, just let us know, and we’ll do our best to help. We believe in the strength of a diverse workforce and want everyone to have an equal shot at landing the job. 🧡
