We built Norway’s leading online grocery store and now we want to share what we’ve created with the world! Delivering a huge range of high-quality, affordable groceries and fresh produce to millions of doorsteps is a complex process, but we believe we’ve cracked the code. Using data-driven methodology, with a focus on sustainability all the way along the chain, we are building the most efficient retail system in the world. Frequently asked questions

What does the recruitment process look like?
The recruitment process at Oda varies between roles, teams and functions so that they’re tailored for each new hire. You can always ask your contact person for specifics. In general, we go through 2-3 interviews where we deep dive into behaviors, competencies and your previous experience. One of these interviews usually contains some kind of case study or presentation that you’ll need to prepare in advance (these are usually fun, so no need to stress!). To make sure we’ve found a good match, we also work with personality and reasoning tests.

How long will it take before I hear back about my application?
We will always get back to you! Sometimes there just aren’t enough hours in a day, but we do our absolute best to make sure you have a response within a couple weeks, so please bear with us!

Can I apply for more than one role?
Yes, indeed you can! If you’re interested and qualify for more than one position - go ahead!

I’m applying for a role within engineering but don’t know Python. Can I still send in my application?
Definitely! Python may be our main programming language, but we focus on finding great developers regardless of your preferred language! As long as you’re open to learning new tools, we’re confident that great developers can get up to speed when they have the help and support of their co-workers.

Do I have to have an education to join Oda?
No, higher education is not a requirement at Oda. We believe that people have different backgrounds and paths that have led to where they are today. So, just apply – formal education or not! 🧑‍🎓

What kind of social activities do you arrange?
A rich social life is super important for us at Oda! 💃 We’re known for great summer parties, vibrant dinners and team happy hours. To stay aligned and in touch, we bring the usual water cooler chats to our people via our very own internal podcast. We have team lunches and weekly random match-ups for coffee. Other than that, individuals at Oda have started wine clubs, running groups, football clubs and other niche social groups that are a great way to get to know, and stay close to your colleagues.

What kind of working tools does Oda use?
We use smart technologies that improve collaboration between individuals and teams! Slack, Quip, Miro and Google Suite are all examples of tech that we use every day. We also have a company-wide work methodology that we call Flow that breaks our weeks into focus and flexible periods, giving everyone the opportunity to work with few interruptions alternating with periods where there are more meetings and time to clear the backlog.
