We’re looking for a Platform Engineer to join Oda!

We’re looking for an experienced Platform Engineer to join our Infrastructure & Organizational Engineering team in Oda! You’ll work on the fundamental platform that keeps our systems running, while helping our product and platform teams move faster and more reliably. This is a senior role in a small, highly competent team where you’ll have real influence over how things are built and operated.

You’ll develop and operate scalable cloud-based systems, shaping the platform that enables teams across Oda to own their services from code to production. Expect autonomy, ownership, complex problems, and the chance to make existing systems even better. Our platform is built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and Kubernetes/GKE, powered by a custom deployment system. For observability, we use the Grafana stack, and for Infrastructure as Code, it’s Terraform all the way. On the coding side, you’ll work with Python, and with a bit of Go and Rust sprinkled in for glue. Oh, and yes — YAML might occasionally make an appearance in your workflow.

What you’ll be doing as a Platform Engineer

• Develop and operate scalable cloud infrastructure.

• Build and maintain our development platform.

• Support and accelerate developers by providing tools and best practices for deployment, reliability, security, and observability.
  
  

What you’ll need to succeed 🌟

• Have experience with cloud infrastructure, infrastructure as code (IaC), container orchestration, observability, monitoring, and alerting systems.

• Are proficient in one or more programming/scripting languages, along with knowledge of DevOps tools, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, cloud security, and network design, particularly in cloud networking.

• Have great communication skills and know how to work well with both technical and non-technical people.

• Have fluency in English, both written and spoken; Norwegian is a plus.

• Are self-motivated and take responsibility for tasks from start to finish.

• Are eager to learn new things and share knowledge with others.

• Are committed to writing clean, scalable, and maintainable code.
