We’re looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to join the Logistics team in Oda!

In this role, you'll be a key driver in the growth and success of our engineering team. You will be part of the team that runs our world-class logistics operation, servicing thousands of customers across two countries.

You'll work side-by-side with engineers, focusing on their development and creating an environment where they can do their best work. You'll also be actively involved in the team's software projects, bringing your hands-on expertise and collaborating closely with product managers to deliver robust technology that makes a difference.

You're a confident communicator who enjoys leading projects to successful completion and supporting the growth of our developers within the team and across Oda & Mathem, leveraging your expertise to drive shared success.

What you’ll be doing as an Engineering Manager

• Set and lead the technical direction for a team of around 12-14 people, with 5 engineers. The team is responsible for all things delivery, from the tools that define the delivery offering shown to customers, addresses and geodata, route planning, and the tools used by the drivers and their support functions out on the road.

• Coach, mentor, and guide career development for ~5 engineers, ensuring team productivity and well-being through effective feedback.

• Drive the team's work on several projects concurrently, collaborating closely with other product teams and the delivery operations to define and deliver on key objectives.

• Resolve collaboration issues, remove obstacles, and improve development processes to maximize team productivity.

• Recruit and evaluate new talent, championing diversity and inclusion, and contribute to the development of talent acquisition methods.

• Maintain engineering quality, and evaluate and improve processes, tooling, and best practices.

• Work closely with stakeholders in our organization to help prioritize and find good enough solutions

• Remain hands-on by contributing code to team projects, ensuring that you have a deep understanding of the tech.
  
  

What you’ll need to succeed 🌟

• 5+ years of experience building digital products in software engineering teams.

• Solid experience leading, developing, and supporting engineers, ensuring their well-being and fostering their professional growth.

• A history of successfully delivering large projects from beginning to end.

• Strong English communication and interpersonal skills, with a proven ability to collaborate effectively and build strong relationships across teams.

• A deep understanding of your area and how it fits into the bigger picture and development of the company.

• It's a plus if you have some knowledge of Norwegian or another Scandinavian language.

• Python and Django are important tools in Oda, and knowing them will help you get up to speed on the technical side.
